Design

Contrast: In terms of contrast for this page, I created a gradient overlay on the background so it would give some dimension.

Repetition: I repeated the white color on all of the text that gave information regarding the Gear Up Program, making it easier to read.

Proximity: Both the header and the text explaining the roles of Gear Up were relatively close to each other. I also placed photos close to the text so the entire image has a nice flow.

Color Scheme: I used a color scheme that was offered on our professors website so the entire image had a similar feel. I decided a darker color on the background and brighter colors on the text would make the text stand out more.

Photoshop: To create this entire image, I created a faded gradient on the background. Then, for the 'Succeed In Every Class' header, I arched the text and beveled the text as well as putting a shadow on the bottom as well. I felt like it made it stand out more. Then for the two clip art photos I used in the image, I got them off of the internet. The only problem was that the pencil I wanted to use was too dark, so I brightened up the image in Camera Raw and then placed it next to the text. For the graduation cap, I made the size significantly smaller than its original size and moved it slightly so it would fit over the header text as if it was a real cap.

Credits: Color scheme was taken from the Color Hunt Website. Graduation Cap was taken from Lori Molnar on Pinterest. Pencil was taken from clipartlibrary.com.
