Contrast: I used a monochromatic pink color palette for my birthday invitation which added contrast through the design. The soft pink color in the background makes the darker pink colors stand out more. I also added a drop shadow on some of the text to add more contrast as well.

Repetition: For this invitation, I added two rectangles in the same color of pink to go over the black text. This added repetition because the rectangle went over the same type of text on both sections. I also used repetition in the monochromatic color scheme I used.

Proximity: The text on this invitation was meant to be close together, so the information could be read easily. I wanted to make the '8' stand out because it was her 8th birthday. I made the proximity of the two rectangles line up with the '8'. I also had the date at the bottom close together with different sizes of text to make it look a little more interesting.

Color Scheme: I chose a monochromatic pink color scheme for this invitation because it was for a little girl and I felt like it fit well. I didn't want to use the same color of pink through the whole thing, so I did multiple shades to make it more interesting.

Photoshop: To create this design, I first picked a soft pink and painted it onto the image, then, I wrote out all of the text I knew I was going to want and began to space it out accordingly. I added two rectangles and filled them with a darker pink color. Then, I added a drop shadow on the text in the rectangles. I made the '8' on the design very large so it would be the focal point of the invitation and added a drop shadow to it as well. Then I used a blocked font to add the date at the bottom to make it look more visually pleasing.
