Contrast: I created an invitation to a Ward Christmas Party that will be happening in a few weeks. The mistletoe on the corners of the design added contrast to the white background, so I felt black text would be the best way to have a very stark contrast. I also made the text in different fonts and heights to add contrast as well.

Repetition: The repetition of this design comes with the color scheme and the text. While there were two different fonts used, for the most part, only one was used consistently, which added to the repetition. I added to the repetition with the date and time by adding dividers that were the same on each side, making it visually appealing while also using repetition.

Proximity: The mistletoe on the corners of the image made the proximity of the text closer together in order to not cover the mistletoe. The text was clumped together in sections of importance. The top section that says "Provo 8th Ward Christmas Party" was rounded to make it stand as the focal point, which also make the text around it farther away since it is much larger. I also put the date and time close together at the bottom with a line divider to make it have a fancier feel.

Color Scheme: The color scheme for this invitation was meant to be Christmas colors. I also wanted it to have a fancy and classic feel, so the red, white, green and black helps with that. There was a lot of white space on this invitation, but that was on purpose to add to the simplicity and fancy feeling.

Photoshop: To create this invitation, I first found the image I wanted to use for the background of the invitation. Then I wrote out all of the text I knew I needed for the information. Once I finished the text, I started to place it accordingly. I added a free transform on the 'Provo 8th Ward Christmas Party' text and made it rounded, so it would stand as the focal point. Then, I added the text in at the bottom by putting line dividers on the date and time to make it look fancier. I also used white space to my advantage for this invitation and let the margins be very wide and open.
